Cisco Business 220 Series CBS220-48P-4G is a managed network switch designed for deployment in small and medium-sized businesses. It offers 48 ports 10/100/1000 Mbps with PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) support and a total PoE budget of 382 W, allowing power to up to 48 devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, or IP cameras directly through the network cable.
The switch features a switching capacity of 104 Gbps and packet forwarding rate of 74.38 Mpps. For connection to the backbone network or other switches, there are 4 Gigabit SFP ports available. The device supports advanced features such as VLAN (up to 256), QoS with 8 queues, IGMP snooping, Link Aggregation (LACP), and comprehensive security including IEEE 802.1X authentication, ACL, and port security.
Advanced networking features
The switch supports up to 256 VLANs for network segmentation, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP, RSTP, MSTP) for redundancy, and Link Aggregation up to 8 ports for increased throughput. The Auto Voice VLAN feature automatically assigns voice traffic to a dedicated VLAN with QoS priority.
Security and management
The device offers IEEE 802.1X authentication with RADIUS/TACACS+ support, port security for MAC address restriction, extended ACL for traffic filtering, and DoS protection. Management is possible via web interface (HTTP/HTTPS), CLI (SSH/Telnet), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, or Cisco Business Dashboard.
Quality of Service
The switch features 8 hardware queues per port with strict priority and WRR scheduling support. QoS classification is based on 802.1p, DSCP, IP precedence, and ACL with remarking and rate limiting capabilities at port and VLAN level.
