Multi RS Solar 48/6000/100 is a versatile solution combining the functions of a grid inverter, solar charge controller and battery charger in one compact device. With maximum power output of 6 kVA (5 kW) and voltage range of 48 V, it is ideal for residential and commercial installations. The device features two independent MPPT trackers, each with a capacity of 3 kW, allowing connection of photovoltaic arrays with different orientation or tilt for maximum utilization of solar energy.
The system supports a wide range of operating modes including hybrid operation for storing excess solar energy, backup mode during grid failure, off-grid operation without grid connection and generator mode to minimize generator operating hours. PowerControl and PowerAssist technology intelligently manages the load and automatically supplements power from the battery when grid or generator capacity is exceeded.
Solar charge controller and MPPT tracking
Integrated MPPT trackers operate in the voltage range 65–450 V with a startup voltage of 120 V. Maximum operating current of each tracker is 12 A with the possibility of short-term short-circuit current up to 16 A. The system automatically detects insulation faults before startup and features ground fault protection with disconnection level of 30 mA. Maximum open-circuit voltage of the photovoltaic array must not exceed 450 V, with the recommended limit being 8× the battery float charging voltage.
Charger and battery management
The charger supports a programmable charging voltage range of 36–60 V with default absorption voltage setting of 57.6 V and float voltage of 55.2 V. Maximum charging current from grid reaches 88 A at 230 V AC and 57.6 V DC battery at 25 °C. Total combined charging current (AC + PV) can reach up to 100 A. The system includes temperature compensation, battery voltage sensing and overcharge protection. Minimum battery startup voltage is 41 V DC with undervoltage disconnection at 37.2 V (adjustable).
Grid input and output
The inverter operates with nominal grid voltage of 230 V AC in the range of 187–265 V and frequency of 50 Hz (45–65 Hz). Output voltage is stabilized at 230 V AC ±2 % with frequency of 50 Hz ±0.1 %. The output can be reconfigured to 240 V AC and 60 Hz. Maximum continuous inverter current is 25 A with output overcurrent protection of 30 A and short-circuit current of 45 A. Efficiency reaches 96.5 % at 1 kW load and 94 % at 5 kW. No-load consumption is only 20 W.
Communication and monitoring
The device features built-in Bluetooth (2402–2480 MHz, 4 dBm) for direct communication with smartphones and tablets via the VictronConnect app. For system integration, the VE.Can port allows connection to GX devices (e.g. Cerbo GX) for comprehensive monitoring, data logging and remote firmware updates. The VE.Direct port is designed for connecting GlobalLink 520 for remote data monitoring. The system supports connection of Victron VM-3P75CT energy meter via VE.Can or Ethernet.
Mechanical construction and operating conditions
Compact steel enclosure in blue color (RAL 5012) with dimensions of 462 × 425 × 127 mm and weight of 12.3 kg offers protection rating of IP21 and protection class I. Operating temperature range is -40 to +65 °C with fan-assisted cooling. Maximum altitude for operation is 2000 m at maximum humidity of 95 % (non-condensing). Battery is connected using M8 screws, photovoltaic array via MC4 connectors (2 strings with positive and negative pole) and grid connection via terminal blocks for 10 mm2 (6 AWG) conductors.
