Professional Layer 3 managed multigigabit switch with advanced routing features and high PoE++ performance for demanding network infrastructures.
The MGS-6311-8UP4X switch represents a top-tier solution for modern enterprise networks that require high data throughput and power supply for high-performance end devices. It features 8 ports 10/100/1000/2500Base-T with PoE++ support (IEEE 802.3bt) up to 95 W per port and a total PoE budget of 240 W. For backbone network connectivity, there are 4 ports 10GBase-X SFP+ compatible with 1G/2.5G/10G modules.
As a full-featured Layer 3 switch, it supports dynamic routing protocols RIPv1/v2, OSPFv2/v3 for IPv4/IPv6 and VRRP for gateway redundancy. Switching capacity of 120 Gbps and throughput of 89.28 Mpps ensure seamless operation even at maximum load. Advanced redundancy using ITU-T G.8032 ERPS with recovery under 15 ms guarantees uninterrupted availability of critical applications.

Multigigabit connectivity for Wi-Fi 7 and broadband applications
2.5GBase-T ports eliminate the bottleneck of gigabit ports for modern wireless APs (802.11ax/be) with speeds of 1.2–3.6 Gbps. Thanks to PoE++ up to 95 W per port, it powers even the most demanding devices such as Wi-Fi 7 APs, 4K PTZ cameras, digital signage displays, or edge AI systems over existing CAT5e/6 cables at distances up to 100 meters.
Layer 3 routing and VLAN segmentation
Implementation of dynamic routing protocols RIP and OSPF enables automatic routing table creation and path optimization between VLAN segments. VRRP ensures default gateway redundancy with automatic failover when the master device fails. Supports up to 4K VLANs with 802.1Q tagging, Q-in-Q, protocol-based, MAC-based, and IP subnet VLAN for comprehensive network segmentation.
High availability and fast recovery
ITU-T G.8032 ERPS technology provides network recovery under 15 ms at 3 nodes (under 50 ms at 16 nodes) in ring topology. IEEE 802.1s MSTP enables spanning tree per VLAN. Supports major ring and sub-ring architecture for complex redundant topologies. Link aggregation IEEE 802.3ad LACP up to 64 trunk groups of 8 ports increases throughput and resilience.
Advanced security at all layers
Comprehensive ACL at layers 2–4 with up to 4K rules for filtering by MAC/IP addresses and TCP/UDP ports. IEEE 802.1x port-based and MAC-based authentication with RADIUS/TACACS+ integration. DHCP Snooping protects against rogue DHCP servers, IP Source Guard blocks IP spoofing, and Dynamic ARP Inspection prevents ARP poisoning attacks. Protection against DoS and TCP flood attacks.
Quality of Service for critical applications
8 priority queues on all ports with flexible WRR (Weighted Round Robin) and strict priority policy. Traffic classification according to IEEE 802.1p CoS, IPv4/IPv6 DSCP, and per-port settings guarantees low latency for VoIP, video conferencing, and real-time applications. TX/RX bandwidth control on each port for fair capacity sharing.
Multicast optimization
IGMPv1/v2/v3 snooping and MLDv1/v2 for IPv6 eliminate unnecessary multicast traffic flooding. Querier mode and Multicast VLAN Register (MVR) enable efficient IPTV stream and video surveillance data distribution across VLANs. Supports up to 1024 multicast groups with receiver/sender control and illegal source detection.
Flexible SFP+ uplink
4× 10GBase-X SFP+ ports with 10G/2.5G/1G support provide flexible backbone network connectivity. Compatible with 10GBase-SR/LR and 1000Base-SX/LX/BX modules for distances from 300 m to 120 km. SFP-DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) enables real-time monitoring of optical power, temperature, bias current, and transceiver voltage.
Intelligent PoE management
PD Alive Check monitors the status of powered devices and automatically restarts non-responsive PDs by power cycling. PoE Schedule allows time-based scheduling of PoE on/off on individual ports for energy saving outside working hours. Per-port power limitation, port prioritization, and PD classification detection ensure optimal distribution of the 240W PoE budget.
Centralized management
Support for PLANET NMS and CloudNMS for centralized management and monitoring of all network devices including real-time PoE status. Web GUI, CLI via console/Telnet/SSH, SNMPv1/v2c/v3 with encrypted communication. Cisco-like commands minimize training time. ONVIF device discovery for automatic IP camera detection.
IPv6 ready infrastructure
Full IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack support including management, ACL, routing (OSPFv3, RIPng), DHCPv6, SNMPv6, SSHv6, and hardware-based IPv6 forwarding. Ready for IPv6 network transition without device replacement. IPv6 RA (Router Advertisement) and ICMPv6 for automatic configuration.
