Teltonika Calyx EBD070 is a 5G Red Cap modem in HAT+ format designed for direct mounting on Raspberry Pi 4 and 5. The modem provides reliable mobile connectivity via 5G Sub-6GHz SA with speeds up to 223 Mbps (DL) / 123 Mbps (UL) and backward compatibility with 4G LTE Cat 4 up to 195 Mbps (DL) / 105 Mbps (UL).
The module connects directly to the 40-pin GPIO connector of Raspberry Pi and offers power supply via GPIO (DC 5 V and 3.3 V), or a separate USB-C port. With compact dimensions of 100.8 × 56 × 23.11 and weight of only 57 g, it occupies minimal space. The module supports a wide temperature range of -40 to +75 °C, enabling deployment in industrial applications.
Advanced GPIO modem control
The modem offers full control via Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. The PWR_KEY pin enables modem power on/off using a pulse ≥500 ms, the Modem wakeup pin wakes the modem from sleep mode (active Low), and the Modem reset pin performs a modem reset (active High). All signals operate with 0–3.3 V logic.
Flexible power supply and connectivity
The device can be powered in two ways: directly from the 40-pin GPIO connector of Raspberry Pi (5 VDC and 3.3 VDC) or externally via USB Type-C port (5 VDC). Data communication occurs via USB 2.0 interface, ensuring reliable data transfer between the modem and Raspberry Pi.

The modem supports a wide range of frequency bands: 5G NR SA (n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n13, n14, n18, n20, n25, n26, n28, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n70, n71, n77, n78, n79) and 4G LTE-FDD (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B14, B17, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28, B30, B66, B70, B71) and LTE-TDD (B34, B38, B39, B40, B41, B42, B43, B48).
